I know we’ve made and sampled a VERY similar pair to this one here (see right) but this original here, from the Manchester Costume Galleries collection featured some really intriguing designs that I wanted to better understand – especially as part of the What Lies Beneath Project.
So – I decided to make 2.
One – as direct a replica as I could achieve – to really learn from the original makers and pattern cutting.
Two – and one for a friend who’s body shaped looked like it could be interesting to sample it on.she very kindly agreed lol.
The first one has been scaled out and cut out BUT NOT STARTED yet! Shame but there was no deadline with this one which never helps.
Whereas the second one was drafted, cut out and made between April this year and now (september). I am meeting up with my friend at a conference next weekend so wanted to be able to fit her if poss.
