The Georgian Costume Study Centre:
Our hearts desire is to create an online space where deep study courses can easily be accessed on the various garments and styles from the 18th century. We have only 1 course uploaded currently but bear with us lol, it takes a long time to create these things :).

Perth Creative Exchange: 18th Century Staymaking Workshop – 26th-29th June 2024.
£375 for the 4 days – and 20 hours of learning, in person.

In this course we will be teaching staymaking and leading you through making a basic pair of stays.
The course will include:
- Adapting a block to fit your personal figure
- Cutting out the layers and preparing the panels
- Sewing the boning channels and stays
- Learning the inner structure work
- Binding the stays
- Lining the stays
Due to time constraints the course will advise sewing the boning channels by sewing machine and only half boning the panels, but all the techniques found in the original garments will be taught and discussed.
